Episode 81

Five Native Plants for the Garden

This week Nathan talks about native plants to help attract and maintain pollinators in your garden! Black-eyed Susans are well known but Nathan describes a couple that you might not have in your landscape, including one known as "Green-eyed Susan." The celebrity of all pollinator plants is probably purple coneflower, but it definitely deserves a mention on today's program. If you are looking to specifically attract the monarch butterfly to your garden, Nathan let's you know of two essential plants they need, Butterfly Weed and Swamp Milkweed. Take a look at your landscape this week and see how many native plants are growing there. If you don't have many or any, be sure to plant one (or all) of these this planting season!
